CALM: PILATES FOR ALL
Pilates is a physical fitness system developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates, after whom it was named. Pilates called his method “Contrology”. It is practiced worldwide, and especially in western countries such as Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.
As of 2005, there were 11 million people practicing the discipline regularly and 14,000 instructors in the United States.
Pilates can help with, and alleviate back pain and improve balance, help with austeophorosis and austiopenia and improve posture.

At Fitness For All, we practice Mat Works Pilates, the class is suitable for all ages and abilities.
Recommended by osteopaths, physiotherapists and GPs worldwide, Pilates is one of the most effective forms of exercise today. Practice controlled movements across a series of postures and poses, to target muscle groups and promote relaxation.
We have classes on everyday of the week suitable for all levels and abilities. We also have a small group class on a Wednesday evenings which is for beginners – keeping the numbers low – no more that 10 people allows the instructor to focus in more depth on technique, posture and the breath, which is such an important part of the class.
