At Bear Strength Training we coach and apply the STARTING STRENGTH system of training to keep your training SAFE – SIMPLE – HARD and most importantly – EFFECTIVE. Simply put our job is to help you get progressively stronger regardless of the limitations that may be standing in your way.

BEAR WITH US…

Bear Strength Training is a members only area where members can come to learn and apply the Starting Strength system of basic barbell training safe in the knowledge that they will always have access to a squat rack and that they will be training in a supportive environment with like minded people.

The ultimate goal of all strength training is to make you stronger and more resilient for whatever you occupy your time with outside of the gym whether that is playing a particular sport, gardening, walking, working in an office etc… Therefore posture (i.e. Your bodies ability maintain healthy alignment regardless of what you happen to be doing) is a big part of strength training – we are training your body to hold a good postural position under extra load, therefore it will be easier to do so out in the real world. If you have a prior history of chronic pain then we always ensure we start at the beginning with a basic stretching and strengthening program utilising the Egoscue Method in order to reduce chronic pain and improve over all posture before you lift anything other than your body weight.
